Pre and Post Visit Activities 1. Write your Thoughts and Feelings After your visit, write down your personal thoughts and reflections about your visit. What ideas, images, and objects do you continue to think about? Why? What new questions do you have? What new areas do you want to learn more about? What are your thoughts about the meaning of September 11th for your generation? How will these events impact your future and other choices you might make? You can write these as a journal entry, a homework essay or just jot down some thoughts for a class discussion. 2. Conduct your Own Oral History 3. Mini Museum Classroom Project In the spirit of Person-to-Person History, we hope that you will share your experience with others at your school by creating a “bulletin board” museum, an online exhibit, or a notebook of thoughts that can be shared in a school library with your school community. Below are links to images used by groups during their guided visit to the Tribute Center. In your classroom you can divide your class into five groups. Each group gets an image. Print out each of the five images attached. Each image contains a writing box. Students can compose a label based on their research.
