Class Visits
School Visits to 9/11 Tribute Center
Throughout its galleries, the Tribute Center uses primary source materials, including oral histories and artifacts to help students understand the impact of September 11th on the lives of individual people. The first gallery presents the lively World Trade Center community before the attacks. The second and third galleries reveal the events of September 11th and the recovery period that followed, as told by the men and women who experienced them. The fourth gallery is a tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the attacks. The final gallery concludes by sharing the vision of rebuilding the World Trade Center including the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, as well as visitor comments from around the world.
The 9/11 Tribute Center is located only a few blocks from the 9/11 Memorial and offers historical context and interpretation to students prior to their experience on the Memorial. We encourage you to bring your students to the Tribute Center in conjunction with a visit to the 9/11 Memorial for a well-rounded educational experience.
